A Victorian wall plaque depicting two cats, ceramic set within an ebonised plaster frame.

Likely dating to the late 19th century, circa 1860–1900.

The central image, rendered in delicate monochrome, captures a quiet domestic scene: two cats at rest, one engaged with a small object, the other observing. The frame is made of moulded plaster, finished in black to imitate ebonised wood, a technique widely used in Victorian decorative arts.

The reverse shows age-consistent wear, and the piece retains its original hanging element, confirming its intended use as a wall decoration rather than a functional object.
