Victorian 14k Gold Star Sapphire Ring: Antique Diamond Halo Jewelry

Antique ring crafted with solid 14k gold, star sapphire and natural old cut diamonds.
Late 19th Century, Victorian age.

At the heart of this gorgeous ring lies a natural star sapphire, cut as a high cabochon that rises to a pointed dome, reminiscent of the "sugar loaf" cut. The gem shows the enchanting optical effect known as asterism, with its subtle star-like sheen gliding over the surface when light touches it.

Surrounding the sapphire is a halo of 10 natural old-cut diamonds, each hand-cut in the traditional 19th-century style, sparkling with lively fire and brilliance.

The craftsmanship is entirely period, with elegant claw settings and an airy openwork gallery beneath the stones. The band is slender and graceful, allowing the gemstones to take full focus.

USsize: 7.75 (EU: 56).

The head of the ring has a diameter of 9.1 mm and stands 7.2 mm from the finger.
