Antique Victorian 14k Enameled Gold Locket Pendant with Diamonds and Secret Religious Medal

Antique locket pendant crafted with solid 14k gold, diamonds, silver and enamel.
Late 1800s to early 1900s, Victorian age.

This antique pendant is a fascinating and symbolic piece.
On the front side, the main enamel painting depicts a noblewoman, she wears a powdered wig adorned with four rose cut diamonds.

The back is removable, it is made with solid silver and bears an inscription reading:
"I memories keep".

This precious keepsake hides an additional enameled plaque, revealing a religious theme. The painting depicts the Immaculate Conception, a classic representation of the Virgin Mary standing on a crescent moon, surrounded by twelve golden stars. The back reveals an inscription in Italian:
"S. Maria Madre di Dio Pregate per noi" ("Holy Mary, Mother of God, Pray for us").

Very good antique condition, with signs of time and use to be expected in an antique piece of jewelry. The enamel is intact. The bail is robust, it can be used for regular wear.
