Antique Garnet Necklace 14k Gold Early 1900s Edwardian Garnet Jewelry
Antique garnet necklace in 14k gold.
Early 1900s.
The necklace is composed of finely faceted garnet beads, cut in an irregular cube-like shape with softly polished edges. This particular cut creates lively reflections and subtle flashes of light, giving the stones depth and movement rather than a uniform, modern look. The garnets are linked with delicate gold wire connections, resulting in an elegant, fluid drape.
At the centre is a decorative gold element set with a single garnet. This central component is made of hollow gold, and was designed as an ornamental focal point rather than a functional clasp.
Due to its generous length, the necklace can be worn long in a single strand or wrapped twice around the neck for a more layered look, as shown in the photos.
Length: ca. 104 cm
Weight: 12.7 grams
Very good antique condition, with signs of time and use to be expected in an antique piece of jewelry. There is a small dent to the hollow gold central element, this is consistent with age and use and has been taken into account when pricing the piece.
