Datable to the early 1900s, Edwardian Age.

The beauty of these antique niello chains is that they have such a great variety, it seems that no two are the same. In this case, the niello links are flat and alternate with simple curb links.
Originally watch chains, today pieces like these are used as beautiful necklaces. The bolt ring and dog clip at the ends make it possible to attach pendants or charms.
Niello is a decorative technique that has been appreciated for its beauty and craftsmanship for millennia, it reached a peak of popularity in 1800 and is today almost completely lost. It consists of a black inlay on engraved or etched metal, often silver.

Very good antique condition, with signs of time and use to be expected in an antique piece of jewelry. The enamel has worn a bit here and there, as is normal after over 100 years.
