The carving shows a serene female figure in profile, her hair gathered in a classical style, evoking Greco-Roman ideals. The workmanship is delicate, with soft modelling of the face and carefully defined curls.

The gold frame is simple and elegant, allowing the cameo itself to remain the focal point.
