Antique 18k Gold Harem Ring: Ruby, Blue & White Sapphire, Multi-Band

Antique harem ring, crafted with solid 18k gold, synthetic rubies and synthetic blue and white sapphires.
Datable to the first half of 1900s.

A harem ring is a type of jewelry that consists of multiple interconnected bands.
When worn, the ring appears to be a single, solid band, but when removed, it reveals that it is made of several individual bands.

This lovely harem ring is made up of two rows of rubies, two of white sapphires and one of blue sapphires alternating in a very lively manner. The contrast between the colors is indeed striking.
The bands are held together by a gold cuff to the back of the ring, and each moves individually along with the finger, making it a playful and very comfortable piece.

The rubies and blue sapphire have an unusual cut, a sort of faceted baguette that reflects light brilliantly.

US size: ca. 7 1/2

The head of the ring measures 14.10 mm top to bottom, with each band measuring ca. 2.70 to 3 mm.

Particularly flat compared to other rings of this kind, it stands 1.8 mm from the finger.

Weight: 4.9 grams


Very good antique condition commensurate with use and age.
