Art Deco Red Paste Riviere Necklace: Antique Choker, 1920s
Antique riviere necklace crafted with darkened base metal and red paste stones.
Ca. 1920,-1930s, Art Deco era.
This lovely necklace is a striking piece of costume jewelry. Crafted in darkened base metal, it showcases a graceful graduated design composed of vivid red glass stones (pastes) set in open-back prong mounts. The fiery sparkle of the faceted glass creates a rich visual rhythm, ranging from petite stones at the clasp to larger ones near the center, giving the necklace a classic “riviere” silhouette.
The symmetrical arrangement and bold color are typical of the Art Deco period, where geometric lines and vibrant accents were celebrated.
The necklace fastens with a simple spring ring clasp and lies close to the neck in choker style, lending it an elegant, vintage feel.
