Antique Victorian Jewellery Casket – Gilt-tooled Leather, Brass Fittings & Deep Crimson Velvet

A beautiful and atmospheric Victorian jewellery casket, crafted in the late 1800s and preserved with all the charm of its age.

The exterior is made of gilt-tooled black leather, featuring elegant gold decorative borders and warm brass fittings, including a refined top handle.

Inside, the layout is both elegant and practical. The upper tray features multiple compartments, including a dedicated multi-ring section. It is lined with a striking deep crimson velvet, soft and richly coloured: one of the most captivating elements of the piece. The upper tray lifts out entirely, revealing a large lower compartment that provides generous space for larger jewels, keepsakes, letters or personal items. There is truly room for everything, making the casket not only beautiful but highly functional.

The original key is missing, but the lock and hardware are intact and aesthetically pleasing.

Very good antique condition with light wear consistent with age (light scuffs to the leather, gentle fading on some edges, small marks inside) all typical for a Victorian piece and part of its authentic charm. The velvet remains vibrant and retains its vivid colour.
