Antique French Bulldog Cufflinks Vermeil and Red Stones Eyes

A charming and highly characterful pair of vintage cufflinks depicting French bulldog heads, finely modelled in vermeil (gold over silver) and set with deep ruby-coloured stones for the eyes (stones, not glass).
Ca. 1900-1917, Edwardian age.

The sculptural quality is excellent, with crisp detailing to the dogs' faces and ears.

Each bulldog head is connected by a traditional chain-link fitting, allowing comfortable wear and elegant movement.

Hallmarked on the reverse (shown in the pictures) with "84", an antique imperial silver standard. The piece is finished with a gold layer.

A delightful and distinctive accessory, with a slightly whimsical, collectible appeal.

Each head measures ca. 15.3 x 13.4 mm

Weight of the pair: 11.9 grams
