Antique Edwardian 9k Gold Double-Glass Locket with Grey Seed Pearls, Hand Coloured Portrait Miniatures

Antique locket crafted with solid 9k gold and grey seed pearls.

Early 1900s, Edwardian age.

This beautiful and sentimental locket, crafted is framed with a halo of delicate grey natural seed pearls. The piece is fitted with double crystal panels, making it a true two-sided locket: both faces can display images, miniature artworks, or keepsakes.

Inside the locket are two charming hand-coloured photographic portraits of children. They may depict either two siblings or the same child at different ages, a common Victorian and Edwardian practice. The portraits are original to the piece and beautifully preserved, adding emotional depth and historical resonance.

The bail is also adorned with two small grey seed pearls, echoing the pearl border and giving the piece an elegant, symmetrical look.

The locket opens and the contents can be replaced if desired.

Excellent antique condition. The pearls are intact and well-matched in colour; both glasses are clear; the hinge and frame close securely. Minor age wear to the portraits, expected and typical for pieces over a century old.
